We’re committed to the transition to net zero

Our climate strategy

Supporting the transition to net zero is a key priority for us. We believe that the transition to net zero will help make the global economy stronger and more resilient.

Our ambition is to become a net zero bank by 2050 by reducing our own emissions and supporting our customers to diversify, decarbonize and realize the economic opportunities of the transition.

Our strategy is to enable emissions reductions in the wider economy by working with our portfolio of customers to support their own transition plans, and to provide financing solutions that facilitate their progress.

Net zero

A target of completely negating the amount of greenhouse gases produced by human activity, to be achieved by reducing emissions and implementing methods of absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

We support our clients in their transition

We’re mobilising finance and unlocking innovation, in line with the science, to help limit temperature rises to 1.5°C. With our help, carbon-intensive industries and regions can invest and create the green business models of the future.
